ولهذا الغرض يتم إجراء فحوصات المعدة والأمعاء بالمنظار (التنظير العلوي وتنظير القولون). يتم إجراء عملية التنظير الهضمي العلوي وفقًا لمعايير "الجمعية اليابانية لفحص سرطان الجهاز الهضمي (TJSGCS)".
في الحالات الضرورية، ومن أجل توفير الظروف المثلى قبل العملية على سطح المعدة، يتم شرب سائل خاص وتحقيق الجودة المثلى وتوفر سجلات التصوير مراقبة الآفات.
يتم إجراء اختبارات الدم لتقييم سرطان المعدة وبعض الأمراض المسببة لذلك؛ تم اكتشاف المرضى الخطرين الذين يحتاجون إلى متابعة بالمنظار سابقًا. خلال إجراءات التنظير الداخلي، يمكن تحديد المناطق المشبوهة باستخدام طرق خاصة لصبغ الأنسجة. في المراحل المبكرة، يمكن علاج بعض حالات السرطان بطرق تنظيرية خاصة (تخثر البلازما بالأرجون، استئصال الغشاء المخاطي).
من خلال إجراءتنظير القولون؛ يتم توفير تشخيص وعلاج المريض عن طريق تقييم الأمعاءالغليظةوإزالة النموات البوليبية أو الآفات المشبوهة باستخدام طرق خاصة عند الضرورة.يتم تطبيق الطرق التنظيريةمثل ERCPلتشخيص وعلاج أمراضالقناة الصفراوية، خاصة حصى المرارة وأمراض البنكرياس (التهاب البنكرياس وسرطان البنكرياس). في جميع الإجراءاتالتنظيرية، يتم توفير أقصى درجات الراحة للمريض من خلال تخديره،و وضعهفي حالة نوم خفيفة حيث لا يشعر فيها المريض بالإجراء.
