Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery Department

The Department of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology is an academic division in which intraoral and maxillofacial tissues and organs are examined systematically, all physiological and pathological changes of these structures are interpreted clinically and radiographically and the treatment plans are performed.

In our Oral Diagnosis clinics, dental complaints, systemic diaseases and medications used of the patients who referred to Faculty of Dentistry are learned. Intraoral and surrounding tissues are detailed examined and then intraoral, panoramic or tomographic assessments are performed in radiology clinic. After the clinical and radiographic evaluations, appropriate treatment plans are created and explained to the patients.

Dental scaling, treatment of gingival diseases, surgical procedures, fillers, root canal treatment, prosthetic dentistry, pediatric oral and dental health services and orthodontic treatments are available.

Treatment of Gingival Diseases: sophisticated treatments are combined with dental scaling for bleeding, pain and sensitivity of gums that cover the teeth and of the bone.

 

Treatment for Loss of Substance in Teeth: fillers, root canal treatment and prosthetic approaches are used to treat loss of substance secondary to caries or fractures, but tooth extraction may also be required.

 

Surgical Procedures: The teeth with severe loss of substance that is almost untreatable and embedded teeth are extracted, while surgical treatment, maxillofacial surgery and orthognathic treatment are available for all diseases of the jaw bone.

 

Prosthetic Treatment: aesthetic and functional problems arising out of teeth losses can be treated with various prosthetic approaches, such as crown and bridge prosthesis. Pediatric Dental Treatment: Oral and dental health problems of children at 0 to 12 years of age are solved; preventive dentistry practices are combined with mouth hygiene educations and trauma-related dental problems are solved under anesthesia along with fillers and tooth extraction.

 

Treatment of Orthodontic Conditions: Crooked teeth and misalignment of upper and lower jaws are corrected both in children and adults. Moreover, congenital anomalies, such as cleft lip and palate, are treated in all stages of development, ranging from infancy to adolescence.
