Baby Elif arrived at Başkent University Konya Hospital with an extremely complex medical condition diagnosed shortly after birth. She suffered from a severe congenital heart defect involving complete closure of the valve responsible for carrying blood from the heart to the lungs, in addition to an intestinal perforation that placed her life at serious risk.

Elif experienced severe breathing difficulties, low oxygen levels, and feeding problems, while her family faced heartbreaking medical opinions describing the condition as highly critical.

After arriving in Turkey, Elif underwent a comprehensive evaluation by the specialized teams at Başkent University Konya Hospital. Doctors determined that her condition required a highly delicate surgical intervention to address both life-threatening conditions simultaneously.

The surgery included correction of the cardiac defect and treatment of the intestinal perforation within an integrated treatment plan that required exceptional expertise and coordination between multidisciplinary teams.

Throughout the treatment journey, Baby Elif was closely followed by Dr.Omer Ali Kerkuklu, who maintained continuous communication with the family and supported them throughout their stay in Turkey, helping them feel reassured during this difficult period.

With intensive care and continuous follow-up, Elif gradually improved after surgery and eventually reached a stable condition.

Her family expressed deep gratitude to the medical team, describing Turkey as a place that gave their daughter a second chance at life.

Today, Baby Elif returns home in better health, carrying a new beginning filled with hope.
