Başkent Konya Hospital Participates in the International Symposium: Pediatric Organ Donation & Transplantation and Hosts High-Level Moroccan Medical Delegation

Başkent Konya Hospital actively took part in the International Symposium: Pediatric Organ Donation & Transplantation, held on March 6–7, 2024 in Kızılcahamam – Ankara, organized by the Turkish Transplantation Society and the Turkish Kidney Transplantation Foundation, and supported by Başkent University Ankara Hospital, with participation from leading international experts.
The event also welcomed a high-level Moroccan medical delegation, headed by Ms. Nawal Filali, and included physicians specialized in organ transplantation and intensive care, aiming to foster stronger medical and scientific collaboration between Morocco and Türkiye.

Additionally, Dr. Mohammed Al-Qadri, Health Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Türkiye, attended the symposium.
The program featured advanced scientific sessions addressing the latest developments and ethical frameworks in pediatric organ transplantation, as well as opportunities for global cooperation.
This symposium is among the initiatives championed by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal, the founder of Başkent University Hospitals and a global pioneer in organ transplantation.
In 1974, he performed the first successful kidney transplant in Türkiye, and since then, he has played a major role in shaping national organ transplantation legislation and promoting medical excellence worldwide. He holds prestigious positions in global organizations such as The Transplantation Society, where his leadership and advocacy continue to inspire the field.
Başkent Konya Hospital’s active involvement in this event reflects its strong commitment to global healthcare leadership and academic collaboration.
