Başkent University Hospital Participates in the International Congress of Pediatric Heart Diseases in Baghdad
Upon the invitation of the Rahma Child Health Association, a delegation from Konya Başkent University Hospital (Türkiye) participated in the International Congress of Pediatric Heart Diseases, held between March 9 and 12, 2024 at Babylon Hotel – Baghdad, with the attendance of pediatric cardiologists from various countries and Iraqi provinces.
During the congress, rare and advanced pediatric cardiac procedures performed at our hospital were presented. A fetal echocardiography (fetal echo) workshop was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Gökdemir, Head of the Pediatric Heart Center, providing hands-on training and scientific updates to attending physicians.
The program included:
Knowledge exchange on modern diagnostic and interventional approaches in pediatric cardiology
Free echocardiographic screening for dozens of children suffering from heart conditions, organized in collaboration with the host organization
Certificates awarded to workshop participants
Participation in cardiac catheterization procedures for pediatric patients in cooperation with local doctors in Fallujah and Basra
