Five Moroccan Children Receive Organ Transplants at Başkent Konya Hospital
In a remarkable humanitarian and medical milestone, Başkent Konya University Hospital welcomed five children from the Kingdom of Morocco for life-saving liver and kidney transplants, coordinated through the charitable organization Yallah Nette3awnou, led by Ms. Nawal Filali.
The transplant surgeries were performed by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal, the founder of Başkent University Hospitals, who holds distinction as the first surgeon to perform a kidney transplant in Türkiye and the first in the world to conduct a living-donor-to-living-recipient liver transplant.
This initiative highlights the hospital’s international medical leadership and its commitment to delivering advanced care to pediatric patients from across the globe. Each case was meticulously evaluated and treated by a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the highest level of safety and clinical excellence.
The collaboration reflects a powerful synergy between humanitarian outreach and world-class medical expertise, reinforcing Başkent Konya Hospital’s role as a premier center for complex organ transplantations and a beacon of hope for families in need.
